Looking at top-pile, but there are many;
They own the domain, its their traffic they forward it to you, you stop
paying or they put the price up and you disagree, traffic gone.
Search engines do not like being 'conned', who gets banned? your site
and
the mini site built for you, who loses out most? ...you
All those links that build up over time and are invaulable to SEO, where
do
they point? not your domain.... unless you keep paying them
They have you to ransom once you start paying
If i charged you say £900 one off optimisation, its yours for life, it
would
not take long to recover your £36+vat or whatever every month would it?
unless your only in this short term ;)
"Submission of 5 pages of your web site every 2 weeks to the 50+ major
global and regional search engines".... lol, I dont think I ve submitted
any
of our sites in nearly a year.
Sorry guys but its a rip, optimise your OWN site, build your OWN links
dont
get scammed into this.
And Dave yes you were bound to hear this, and you will continue to,
until
you understand ;)
SEO has a black art reputation and deals like this are exactly why, they
shroud it in mystery, when in reality there is no mystery, its just
work,
the same as designing a site.
Would you rent your site design for 36 quid a month? and get new colour
options every 2 weeks plus a news letter?
my2p once again
Oh and another thought will they get you top position for 'mp3' for 36
quid
a month? .. yeh right
Mike

I understand what you say, but for the SALSA service I'm not giving
advice as a search engine specialist, I'm stating our actual experience
as a Top-Pile customer (in that we have tried the SALSA service and
based on our keyword selection it worked).
The second point about the standard service was based on the experience
of one of our clients, their previous developer of which paid for the
standard service knowing that the keywords "High Temperature
Electronics" will not be used by a large number of firms. If I am wrong
on this point (I'm assuming from your message that I am as I have not
used their standard service), then fair enough, I would also be
interested in knowing the problems that can pros and cons of their
standard service,
John

With all due respect that is not good advice, there are several SEO's on
this list who will agree

You could try top-pile.com's SALSA service. For £36+VAT per month they
register a domain name, set-up a forwarding web page with a number of
keywords based on your requirements (with the help of a designated
account manager). They claim that within six months the site will be
ranked within the first page of at least five search engines. We've
tried them and it works.
You might also want to try their standard service (I think it's £99), as
I'm not sure whether there are many web sites with the keywords
'woodland burial',

Could anyone recommend a way to get top 10 (ish)ranking for a client's
site.
They want the words 'woodland burial' to get them onto the first page.
I
have hand submitted to google, alta vista, the usual, but what about
services like top-pile or things that forum members offer? My clients
are
looking for, as you would expect, the cheapest option - they are a
charity-
so under £500 p.a. would be good.
Any thoughts?
The site (for those interested..) is www.arborytrust.org
thanks in advance
Iain
