Subject: FN-FORUM Bad Webdesign
First of all I would like to say that this is NOT meant to
offend people!
Secondly it's just my attempt to pass on a bit of knowledge and
food for thought ;-)
The more I use the Internet the more fed up I become with
malformed, badly coded and useless webpages.
I browse a lot for research, work and fun and the last I
want is to be faced with a site that is not viewable.
What I do on a regular basis is to write a mail to the sys
admin or webdesigners telling them what I think they've done
wrong. I know we all started somewhere and have to learn a
lot but if nobody speaks up, things will just get worse.
Worse because more and more more junk is out there jamming the
bandwidth with chunky applets, animations, sounds, etc.
I've started a list over on http://my.gardeneden.net/ with
sites that are non-standards compliant.
There is an International standard for writing websites and
it can be found at http://w3c.org/ - the Worldwideweb Consortium.
Thanks for reading this
PS I got my arse kicked several times now, be it clients complaining
that their clients complained to them or my fellow hackers crying
in my ear to get my act together. So I learned a lot and if you
like - I'm here to share it :-)
Cheers,
Axel
