I've run various different PC operating systems on a PC in virtual
machines, mostly using VMWare (www.vmware.com). This includes running
Linux on Windows NT, Win95/NT/2000 on Linux and NT, and FreeBSD on
Linux. All work really well, as long as you have enough RAM to spare.
Generally I've found that running the emulator on Linux works better
than on any version of Windows, regardless of the "guest" OS.

The December 2001 issue of Linux Format magazine (issue 22,
www.linuxformat.com) includes a feature about the various Apple Mac
emulators available for Linux running on the PC. Might be worth a look!
