I wonder if you are able to help me. My name is Gary Beckett I am studying
for an MBA at Warwick Business School. Having completed my examined
subjects, I now have my thesis to complete before I gain my MBA.
The subject is Strategic tools for Internet start ups. It is my aim to
review tools and techniques that are available in order to help a
businessman/woman to develop their idea, from the basic spark of inspiration
to a strategy. I then want to look at businesses to see what they actually
do. I am interested in both the pre and post strategy process because I feel
to ignore the implementation of strategy and its consequences would subtract
from the usefulness of the thesis.
I would like to point out that I do not need to know what a company's
strategy actually was, it is how the Strategy was generated and the steps
that were taken that are of interest.
I have contacted a number of organisations; business start ups that failed,
VC's, business incubators and first Tuesday, with what I would regard as
limited success, receiving 5 responses from about 45 emails. Do you think
that you might be able to offer some help yourself, from your own
experience, and if not are you able to point me towards any organisations
who you believe would be willing and able to provide me with some
contribution for the benefit of my thesis? If you are unable, for the
reasons of confidentiality, to provide me with names. I would be very
grateful if you would contact them and ask them if they would be willing to
talk to me. Alternatively you could forward my email.
