Whatever happened to satellite broadband...?

It seems that Nildram have pulled their involvement with the BT satellite
broadband trial, for reasons (unspecified) beyond their control. And the BT
site now seems to have no trace of information that a satellite broadband
system might even exist.

Anyone got any idea what's going on? I was hoping to go that route (my house
is in the middle of nowhere, so ADSL is a no-chance-sunshine thing for me it
seems).
