Agreed. But then I'm not sure a total novice (I mean someone who's
right back there wondering what the mouse buttons do, eg my dad!) would
find Windows all that easy and intuitive either. That's where I think
the Mac has the edge. But yes, Linux wouldn't necessarily be
appropriate, although for someone who has used Windows, there are Linux
distributions that look remarkably similar and work almost identically
(apart from the blue screens!).

Unpaid?!?!! :-)
Actually I seem to spend my entire life trying to help my friends get
their Windows machines to do what they want, and I keep having to stop
myself saying "You know, you wouldn't have this problem with Linux" :-)
