To use the GUI, you need DriveImage 2002 or whatever they call the latest
version. V 5 works like Ghost but supported XP at a time when Ghost didn't

Install Ghost on the machine and then create a boot disk (depending on where
you want the disk image to be stored (network, CDR etc)). Then the rest is

partition magic used to do, plus cloning huge drives and you can do it all

I think I've cracked it - or I've cracked - one or the other. The PC had a

NO. It doesn't. "This behaviour is by design". That's why you need the Q

Presumably you tried it through disk management--did you try editing the
registry? Q234048 explains why this happens.

funny thing happened on my machine - my boot disk went down so I installed a
new one - then installed Win 2K pro again (as before) but it insisted on
calling the boot disk 'G' and the second hard disk...
