Hmmm, think I may have to find another standard link to use for CSS
evangelism. Have to see if Eric Meyer's got anything similar to the ALA
article.
Oh well, probably not a bad thing. It may have to wait till I've got a
bit more time though...
His report from 2002-08-30 does clarify that they're not talking about
going back to tables on ALA, but finding a workaround for the float bug,
which according to today's (2002-09-03) they have. Yet another
JavaScript hack to fix buggy IE behaviour. Think I might have to
combine it with the position: fixed hack and add it to my templates.
Still, having the author of such a strong article saying that basic
layout tables are okay for commercial sites is pretty dire. Perhaps we
might be in need of a list of commercial sites using XHTML for content
markup and CSS for presentation. Again, something that may have to wait
a couple of weeks (months!).
