I am aware of third party programs that extend Flash (only on the PC
grrr) ie FS command can embed pdf in the projector. What I'm
wondering does this just mean that an actionscript or hand coding
solution could achieve the same result?

As I needed an immediate solution I put the whole lot in a browser
rather than standalone app
Flash still seems heavily biased to web rather than cd. thought
director might achieve a better result but I couldn't climb the curve
in the time frame.

I would be interested in how other people have launched word and pdf
files from cd's
