Re: FN-FORUM Strange - Outsourcing Creativity

date posted 5th September 2002 17:24

I understood that the design was outsourced. That *SHOULD* also include HTML
work and if Dean was trusting the guy he outsourced to do the work
honourably, he wouldn't know to check further.

This sort of thing can happen all too easily, especially when people are
trying to get work done on the cheap. Isn't it about time that some members
of this list give the guy a break. For a start he did put the site to us for
review; if he had ripped off something from an organisation that frequents
freelance outsourcing world, he'd have to be remarkably dumb to do that!
Secondly he has accepted that something is amiss and has said he'll take the
site down. The amount of critisism that has continued after he said that is
not too impressive.

Also, I shouldn't wonder he is not giving the name of this designer yet. He
(and we) don't know the full facts behind the image and design; while being
a little dodgy to have reused a design in this way, the individual may have
had IP rights over the design. Naming him at this stage could result in
legal repercussions and may possibly affect any claim he may have to make
against this individual.
