Rates Help

I hope someone on here can give me a bit of advice! I have only just started doing freelance work and have been asked to put together a site for my girlfriends fathers photography business. The site is going to be a basic 8-10 pages with the usual home, about, contact, enquiry form and small gallery. As I am quite new to web design I am going to stick to simple sites for now just to get some experience. I would like to know, for future reference how much I should look to charge for this type of site. Also any advice on contract and charges for updates and maintenance would be appreciated.
