Basically the standard settings that exist when the client browser is
installed. (link colours, background colours, fonts etc.) Many people fiddle
with these and then forget that things that look good on their system will
break horribly elsewhere. I've seen this happen time and time again.
Unless the project dictates otherwise, I normally insist that my developers
use only the default installed settings and fonts for all the target
browser/platforms. It doesn't always solve the problem, but it goes some way
to help.
Of course, this doesn't take into account that horrible habbit that moronic
ISPs have of messing around with your installed browser when you use their
internet setup wizards...... (when the developer can't really be blamed :) )
