I disagree - overuse of the "duck position" leads to reverse
vocalisation (farting). Especially if used carelessly (professional
supervision is advised). Instead opt for the lesser known technique of
"drake-ing" - in which the vocalist assumes the pose mentioned in the
above post whilst wearing bright feathered plumage and attempts
vocalisation with a kazoo inserted into the rectal cavity.
Be aware that the size of the room in which the recording is made makes
a great difference to the overall effect. If possible utilise an indoor
swimming pool and perform whilst crouched on the inflatable "thingy"
with long multicoloured arms (most local swimming pools offer a paid for
out of hours service so you will not need to embarrass yourself).
Hopping (as mentioned in the previous post) has no known effect on the
final recording - unless of course you wish to sound like the Northern
Gannet
