Hmmm... Fireworks is great for basic web design stuff, but truly useless
for pretty much anything else. There's no bloat in Photoshop, just an
awesome selection of mind-bogglingly powerful tools,

Get Fireworks - right click on slice and click "export slice" I don't
get all the fuss about the bloatware that is Photoshop - Fireworks on PC
and Gimp on linux does the job for me.
