Re: FN-FORUM [OT] Hunting (was: drip dry moby)

I may have missed the point entirely so i do Apologise if I have however...
I used to paint antique etchings for the US market with fox hunting scenes.
The most nasty of which were not sellable.
Namely the cutting off of the tail of the fox, and marking the
youngest/newest riders faces with the blood, and dipping the tail into the
punch (drink) afterwards.
I suspect the practice does not go on anymore, but I find it hard to
believe that a pack of half starved (and they are to make them keener)
hounds are going to leave the captured fox in one piece until the huntsman
reaches it after ganging up on it over hill and dale.
....And as we all know its far more economical to have tens of hunting
horses and hounds and houndsmen and stables and hunting gear and race over
anyones land smashing fences and trampling fields, to eradicate the menace
of foxes and their pesilance, than it is to send one marksman with a gun to
shoot them. (Since poison as we all know would kill all wildlife
indiscriminatley.)
'Sport' - it says it all doesn't it? one little fox against a group of men
on horseback plus a team of trained dogs, what could be more SPORTING than
that??? hmmm?
la-de-da..
there... all aired and refreshed,
again if I have missed the point many apologies..
