that depends greatly on how you write your songs.
you don't need a whole load of stuff to do it despite what you may read
in alot of the music tech mags - who promote gear lust... saying that i
have two floor-standing ceiling high racks packed with stuff i never use...
I used to use sequencers... but now just record everything "live" and
edit it later, i use cool edit pro because it is simple and incredibly
powerful. it doesn't force you to work in any particular way.
music technology is a great and wonderful thing... potentially... but it
so very easy to become reliant on it... beware the ides of march's
sound-on-sound... ;-)
