I'd say that it depends on the context - if you are sending brochures to
existing clients who trust you, its not a biggie. If its for general
mailshots, maybe just people who you have had minimal dealings with, or if
it's mailing to techies - then it's not going to work, I never run EXE's
even from people I trust - just too many virii around to chance it. Then
you have problems with people who have non-MS OS's etc.
A well designed PDF is going to get far more coverage, be far smaller, and
look better than any bespoke EXE imho ( I already have a site that
automatically emails a small PDF brochure in response to customer
enquiries on the site - apparently customers really like it too).
