Sounds a lot to me like you simply have a key jammed. The keyboard
buffer fills up from BIOS post if a button is depressed and behaves as
you’ve described. Try unplugging the keyboard or swapping it...

Andrew, there isn't really a hex value for Pantone, even though Photoshop
may claim there is! Same as there isn't an RGB value for CMYK, or a CMYK
value for Pantone. These automatic converters/charts...

Photoshop can do a direct translation of RGB/HEX/CMYK to Pantone and back
again.
All you need to do is double click either the foreground/background colour
swatch, to bring up the colour picker. And...

I've been there - apart from a few printable pantone colour charts
(and they are very basic anyway), and some basic Mac hints there isnt
actually anything to do with Pantone on that page.
