RE: FN-FORUM dvd writer

I just bought an Aopen DVRW2412PRO for £170 from a fair. This got the
best value recommendation in PC Pro magazine but it only writes to DVD+R
and DVD+RW and CDROM & CD-RW.

Problem is when I tried to burn 3.9 GB to a DVD disk (nominal capacity
4.7 GB my software (Nero) told me that the disk had insufficient
capacity - so I've not managed to use it yet (although it will burn
CDROMs (with no overburning). I don't know whether my writer or
software is at fault - I think the disks are OK. The writer comes with 4
blank disks (CD-R, CD-RW, DVD+R, DVD+RW) and 4 CDs of software and a
manual. But one of the disks was actually packed in the drive when I
switched it on (they're not supposed to do that!) - so maybe it needs to
go back.

This doesn't sound like a recommendation, does it?
