RE: FN-FORUM Fujitsu PC Question...

Julian,
The info that appears to be missing include is the new memory the same type
as the existing stuff. Did you look up the system on the fuji site to check
out what type of ram it took and also the maximum configuration etc. IMO
you would be really unlucky to get a system which has a maximum ram limit
below 768mb.

Subject: FN-FORUM Fujitsu PC Question...
Hi all...
I've just inherited a PC from my father-in-law, which I want to
upgrade a bit. It is one of those Fujitsu ones that Tesco were
flogging a couple of years ago: PII/466, 64MB RAM and Win98. I thought
it might be useful as a server, given a bigger hard drive and some
more RAM...
So here's the question, which arises from the fact that I basically
know nothing useful about hardware: I bunged a 256MB DIMM in with the
intention of upping the memory, but it refuses to believe that it has
more than 128MB. I'm wondering if there's some BIOS/jumper/whatever
issue here, but there's sod all information with the system, so I'm a
bit lost.
Any hints gratefully received!
