Ta ever so to all who replied...

I downloaded the motherboard manual from the Fujitsu site... if my
understanding of this is correct, it appears that *this* motherboard
only supports up to 64MB DIMMs, so as there are two slots, 128MB looks
like a plausible total for the maximum the board will support.

Still, at only 20 quid or so for the DIMM, I haven't wasted a lot...
