Lots of complications. A couple I remember coming across are:

1) How to make sure stock listings are up-to-date on the site (when do
updates happen, what happens to someone who's half-way through buying
something when it's suddenly no longer being sold).
2) If order fulfillment is being performed by the backend then how to get
credit card details to it, and making sure invoice numbers are generated
correctly and confirmations sent back to the web site.
3) Delivery slots (might not be an issue - depends on the client's
setup): similar issues to (1).
