how it works is that you sign up to a forum.
people chat on this forum via email.
you sign up, you recieve email.

really, its that simple. im frequently amazed at the number of people who
sign up to an email based forum and - quelle surprise! - seem shocked at
recieving emails.

as for benefitting from it? well anyone who needs answers or help, usually.
