Set up a local web server would be the obvious one, if that's an
option. IIS is bundled with W2K and NT and will do it, don't know
about PWS with 98 etc.

Quite right.
Interestingly, for networks unconnected to the Internet, NetBeui is
faster. So is IPX for that matter. TCP/IP has a load of extra overheads
that we really don't need in a non-routed LAN...

own power supply and also a lighter socket in then, the one I have in
