I'll do it for you .... !!
Every copper I've ever spoken to is against them - in fact, there's a
single camera in Essex (near Loughton or Epping I believe) that
evidently generates over £1,000,000 a year!
I've always maintained that the presence of cameras does more to promote
erratic driving than anything - so many times I've been behind cars that
suddenly stamp on their brakes because they've seen a camera, even
though they're within the speed limit! Then there's those people that
know where the cameras are so they drive way too fast and then stand on
the brakes at the last minute. This has been proven to be the case in
recent studies as well.
I haven't had an accident in some 25 years, and consider myself a good
drive - I drive wa over the average mileage each year, and ride a
stinking fast bike to boot.
Let's face it, a top-end sports car can almost certainly stop quicker
from 80mph than a Ford Fiesta
