I like it....
I currently work in Leeds and live in Sheffield, so my Friday evenings in
the pub after work are, for me, coke fuelled affairs (the soft drink, not
the Columbian Marching Powder). It's sort of useful....the amount of useful
blackmail infom ation you pick up when you're sober as a tee-total judge and
others are deep in their cups...;-)
I'd just change it in one way - put something on their criminal record.
And if people cause death through drunk driving, make it manslaughter. If
they cause injury make it assault with intent to kill. Go teh whole hog and
criminalise drunk driving in every way possible.

i caused some eyebrows to be raised whern i gave my views on what should be
done to drink drivers.
screw a trial, they're guilty. unless they can at the scene come up with
some really good reason for drink driving then they should be locked away
for 2 weeks. nothing on their criminal record unless they were speeding as
well, just locked up for 2 weeks.
after those 2 weeks they have a further 4 to prove that the car they were
driving wasnt theres, if they can't prove otherwise the car gets trashed, if
they can then they get a large fine.
i figure drink driving figures would plummet - esp. around christmas when
the person gets to face their family after those 2 weeks. there'd soon be a
social pressure to not drink and drive.
