Nik, I haven't read all the other posts yet so apologies for the repetition
if there is any, I didn't want to be swayed by the other stuff. I think you
have done well for a first site.

Design rather than prog comments:

Steer well clear of the serif font (Times) as it can be hard to read on
screen - good in a book, perhaps try Arial or Verdana. I think you have too
many fonts on the page stick to two it will look cleaner. Don't use big
slabs of red text it detracts from rather than highlights the rest of the
page

The red and blue look cheap as they are such basic colours and look like you
used the first thing that came to mind, why not use a tint of the blue which
will take off the glary edge and perhaps a maroon colour instead of the red?

Ditch the greyed image in the BG - not necessary

Kill the huge shadows on the buttons and make the buttons a sightly darker
or paler colour for more effect

Take out 'top' on the scrolling page - most people will know how to scroll
up and down

'Click here for more info' need not be so huge

You won't get many answers about what to charge because prices vary so much.
For an idea, set yourself a price for 'basic design' then a 'per page'
price, a price for 'forms', a price for 'domains', add it up, add 20% for
all the messing about and there you have it.

To sum it up - less is more - too much is happening all over the place, tone
down the colours, rationalise the fonts and Bob will be your mother's
brother

Regards and well done
Carla
