Why choose? In a multi-disciplinary team you can have, for example,
presentation tier code in vb.net and business logic in C#. You can also have
some components, such as graphic manipulation, developed in C++ for good
measure.

A disciplined coder will develop well in VB.NET or C#, the language can't
make a developer 'good' or 'bad' and under .net all languages are pretty
much equal.

"My language is better than yours" is about as lame as "my spectrum beats
your commodore 64" or "Linux vs Windows" and about as exciting.

If you want to learn .NET, learn the .NET framework, the language is
secondary.
