While we're talking about language snobbery, has anyone looked at Active
State's Perl Dev Kit 5, specifically the PerlNET stuff? Is it a kludge, or
a practical way forward?

Yes. C# also has the snob value component. C++ and java programmers
graduate to c#.

well considering they watered down vb.net to satisfy some of the VB
programmers bellyaching about having to maybe - the shock, the horror -
improving their general coding practices i still rate c# higher as a
platform from where to becomer familiar with other languages.
