RE: FN-FORUM: Anyone on Freeserve dailup? [OT]

I use freeserver, but go via an ISDN router. And I wish I could upgrade
to ADSL but I can't. If they want to pay for a 512Kb leased line, I'll
happily switch ;-)

I used to use Freeserve Dial-up but converted to ADSL about 2 years ago.
=3D I used standard Windows dialler to connect and never had a problem.
How =3D can they tell you're not using their dialler?
Why not simply phone them and ask them "why" they want you to use their
dialler? If you don't get any sense out of the call centre operator =3D
demand to speak to a more senior person - if you beat them up enough
verbally =3D you usually manage to get someone that is prepared to =
listen
and/or do =3D something

Any of you guys on freeserve? i've been sent 4 or 5 emails about them
wanting me to use their dailer instead of winxp's default, i sent them 5
emails back with the same thing, telling them that I didnt want to use =
=3D
their 3rd party crap to connect up, got the same auto 'I cba to read
this =3D email responce' , BT tried this before.
About 3 or so weeks ago, freeserve sent out 1500 emails to people who
'overuse' a 24/7 ISP called 'Anytime', they following suit from BT.
Is it just me or is it that Freeserve are doing the oppersite, and those
=3D not using their dailer are getting constant crap connections, DNS
error, extremly slow, random connection drops etc? or have I been
branded as a overuser and they've put my username etc on the side of,
'give him a =3D crap connection so he'll get ADSL' list?
Any of you guys experiencing this as well? I'm moving soonish, so dont =
=3D
want to commit to ADSL yet since it'll cost me another 80 odd quid to
get it reinstalled, plus the hasle.

Ryan Kirkaldy
