Re: FN-FORUM: [OT] Speed cameras and speed camera detectors

The biggest fines I came across was when travelling through Switzerland (was
doing the Cannonball Europe car race). I guy in a Ferrari 360 Modena was
caught doing 185mph through the San Bernadino pass tunnel - fined 3500
euros, also another guy in a Saab was caught doing a U-turn and got caught -
fine 2500 euros - not quite sure where there priorities were. But those
caught were told that we wern't in Italy anymore (as thats where we had come
from). Ah Italy, the land of 3 foot tail gating at 130mph - I did see a
Smart car doing 125mpg - nearly tipped over on a corner, even more amusing
was an old granny with her grankids doing 130 in a Renault Espace - never
thought a minibus could go so fast.
If you get caught in Switzerland the fines go off your social status, so
everybody had 5 kids, was unemployed and no it wasn't their car, only
borrowed for the occasion. Mind you we think that the roadblock that the
Swiss police set up to stop us all may have been after myself (M Roadster) a
Subaru STi, Evo IV went roaring up the old mountain pass at 90mph, another
Ferrari missed a bend on the pass and went off down the side of the mountain
and a guy in a Mazda RX7 span the car in a circle outside the doors of the
police station before he went off to the toilet.
Coppers, no sense of fucking humour, even throughout Europe
Best Regards
John Kyle (All allegedly of course)
