Thinking-out-of-the-box, you could always fullscreen TerminalServices/VNC
into your other machine from the Thinkpad, thus gaining you a 'second
monitor' of sorts.

Or you could run some combination of X servers and clients (*nix - easy,
Windows - shrug), to make your applications display over the network on your
other machine?
