If I remember correctly is it about gain and loss, if the individuals can
prove that you either gained or they lost by you using the materials then
you would be in breach. The best idea would be to ask the person who gave
you them where they got them from and ask them if they are the right people
to talk to about distributing there images. The analogy is if a friend gave
you a copy of Windows and you installed it, it would still be illegial and
could face legal action.
