Why don't you try changing the file:
C:\Program Files\Macromedia\Dreamweaver
MX\Configuration\DocumentTypes\MMDocumentTypes.xml to fool DWMX into
thinking that .html is .php or vice versa.
Might work... not tested it... just an idea...
