In that case, assuming you've only got a packet filtering firewall, TCP
connections to port 10000 are working fine. The protocol running on that
port will be irrelevant.

Is your browser configured to use a proxy perhaps? One that doesn't handle
HTTPS?

What happens if you try to use a browser running *on* the webmin host to
connect? (e.g. 'lynx https://127.0.0.1:10000/')

Can you install a copy of Ethereal somewhere
(either on the client, or a *hub* (not switch) somewhere in between the
client and the webmin server) and tell us what it sees?

Oh, plenty (see the Assursys "links" page for a few, plus O'Reilly's
"Building Internet Firewalls), but I don't think that's your problem right
now.
