You need to personalise the letter to show why you are interested
in this particular employer, and show what you have found out about
them that interests you.

Otherwise, why would a potential employer bother to read to the
end of your letter, let alone look at your CV or even examples of
your work?

If you were to respond to an explicit job advert, you would (I hope)
address yourself to items in the advert. In this case, the advert is
what you already know (or can find out) about that company.
