FN-FORUM: the confused 'cgi/asp person' again, please verify something for me!!!!!!

Hi over the last couple of days i have had some good
advice given to me on the forum about cgi scripts and
asp, still slightly confused but I think thats because
my brain just cant comprehend programming,--- thing is
i would just like it if someone can just verify
soemthing for me, say i build a form on dreamweaver
like a feedback/enquiries form or perhaps even a
catalogue request form and i want the results of that
form to go to a particular email address my own or a
client, can i just download ANY cgi/asp script for
form 2 mail from a free site and it will work??? it
cant be that easy???? or can it??? and the only thing
i need to do is just change a bit of info on what
email addres it goes to and my server info? also what
is the info i put in 'smtp server'? 'referrer' -- i
get the 'uploading the script to the cgi bin folder'
bit but thats about it---sorry i know i sound slightly
stupid but how am i supposed to know if soemone doesnt
tell me? so you really dont need to change anything to
fit your form like tell it how many fields u have etc
etc, its really thats easy????
