Mr Grimshaw's answer may be terse and seemingly unhelpful but he's
right. The majority of us here learnt how to do all this technical stuff
by research, reading, and doing - nobody 'told' us how to do it. It's
all very daunting to start off with, and you'll get plenty of help from
us, but you really need to do some work on your own, it's the only way
to learn.

When many of us started, Google didn't exist. Eeeh, when I were a lad...
