Mostly, yes it will just work. Luckily it's not programming as someone else
has already done that for you when the script was written! Only "mostly"
because there are some other considerations like whether the ISP provides an
SMTP server, for example. Your ISP can tell you what to put in for your
site's SMTP server. Referer would usually be the page with the form on (or
the page before that). Most scripts come with instructions.
Experiment on your own system at home first. There are several free SMTP
servers around (I like Mercury) to install at home.
I wouldn't try it for a client until you can do it for yourself. In fact,
I'd learn a lot more before charging someone money. Bit like me coming to do
rewire your house just because I can change a plug...
