I agree. There are loads of questions posed on here daily about various
subjects/issues/problems. Many of those could indeed be answered by spending
some time searching Google or reading a book - but for whatever reason the
question happens to have been posted here and from what I've seen, many such
questions turn into quite lengthy threads - often educational, sometimes
controversial, maybe funny or just plain OT.
If people were to stop posting questions (such as Debi's) on basis that the
answer is in a book or out on Google then it strikes me there wouldn't be
much of a list left - except maybe for postings about free fridges that
overheat! But then, there wouldn't be any postings about OT things like
fridges or lawnmowers or cats or speeding tickets because there'd be no one
on the list to post them! It's a chicken and egg situation. The postings are
what make The List what it is and this particular problem is just as valid
as any other 'on topic' issue.
My advice - if you don't think the question is relevant or trivial or just
aren't interested in responding ... Then don't.
Debi (if you're still here) mail me your DreamWeaver file at [EMAIL REMOVED]
and I'll take a look and see if I can help you move forward. I'm no CGI guru
but I have fiddled and hacked a bit.
