RE: FN-FORUM: BNI

Hi Lindsey
When we started we used to rotate who went, but in the end we settled on one
person going every week. He was saying how he used to hate standing up and
talking in front of people, but the BNI has been good training for him. Not
just in the weekly part of it, but also through the workshops that you get
as part of the package.

When you say non-people person, do you mean like me you'd rather jump
under a bus than stand up and talk about yourself in front of people?
I went as a visitor twice last year and I was petrified. It wasn't as
scary as I thought it would be and everyone was so nice and friendly. I
didn't join because I couldn't face doing it every week, especially the
fact that once every few months you have to do a presentation to remind
everyone the services you offer. It sometimes makes me wish I had a
partner to do all that stuff or at least someone to back me up. Not for
me but it was an interesting experience and made a few contacts.
