RE: FN-FORUM: BNI

date posted 30th June 2003 18:10

Hi Kathy

It seems scary, but really it's not - if you can train people, you can speak
to them. There probably won't be more than 20 people there, if that, and
it's only a minute.

try the format:

Hi everyone, my name is XXXXX and my company is XXXXXX
We are a XXXXXX company based in XXXXXX
Today i'd like to talk to you about one aspect of my company - XXXXX (web
design, graphic design, search engine listings, whatever)

The 3 main benefits of (whatever you're talking about) are 1,2,3

If you would like to talk to me more about this, or know anyone who would,
please let me have their details for a no obligation, non salesy chat.

Thats me, XXXXX (name) from XXXXX (company name)

So, for example:

Hi everyone, my name is John and my company is Johns Training
We are a Microsoft certified training company based in Edinburgh
Today i'd like to talk to you about one aspect of my company - Trainnig for
Mis#crosoft Word

The 3 main benefits of showing your staff how to really use Word are:

* No more wasted time looking for ways to do things - my courses cover the
basics and more in ten minutes
* No more insufficient in house training - let your staff know how to use
word properly from the start
* Umm, something else!!

If you would like to talk to me more about this, or know anyone who would,
please let me have their details for a no obligation, non salesy chat.

Thats me, John Foster from Johns Training

Say it at a slower pace than you read it, don't forget to breathe and don't
worry too much - there's always someone worse than you there!

Hope that helps!

Thanks, Norman. I'll practice. I wish I knew what I did...I can't really say
"anything for money, most things for food", can I?
