I was also in BeyondBricks when it got taken over by Ecademy. I was confused
at first, but took a couple of hours out to read the tutorial and
everything's AOK now. Met loads of people, very helpful to try new ideas out
on and get feedback, but not got significant work through it yet - most
people are in the industry.
The new BeyondBricks homepage has a list of the tutorials - see
http://beyondbricks.ecademy.com/index.php
It's worth the effort, there's a mine of information and contacts on there,
and you don't have to pay unless you want the advanced features.
There's clubs for every geographical location. In fact the most popular
club, Gadgets'r'Us, is run by a brummie (ok, I know that's not strictly
North, but it's North of here ;)
