FN-FORUM: [OT] 'Clicky' keyboard
date posted 30th June 2003 19:18
Lo
I'm trying to find a new 'clicky' microswitch keyboard like the one I
bought yonks ago. I went into PC world today and they were all membrane
type ones and they all seem to be cordless as well which I'm not
insterested in. Doing a search on dabs seems to bring up a similar list
of cheapy keyboards or one of those interweb keyboards with lots of
useless extra buttons across the top.
I would appreciate it if anyone has seen the following recently to point
me in the right direction.
-Microswitch keys (i.e. each key is it's own switch) thus the satisfying
click
-USB
The one I bought a few years back cost a lot (£60+) and it's still going
strong. But it's a 5 Pin DIN which I've converted to PS-2 and now my
laptop docking station is USB only. Even with a PS-2 -> USB converter I
still have problems as the \ | key does not work which is rather a pain
as I do a lot of unix work.
