You can set up your own groups on ecademy (there's 399 of varying quality at
the mo). There's a Ecademy North-East group set up, not hugely active, but
it's the members that make it so suggest joining and writing a hello
message, or starting up one in your own area - Thomas Power who runs it is
looking for people to set up regional ecademy's, and you get a commission on
each person you refer if they become a power networker.
I'm not saying it's the best, just another avenue. I can't currently afford
to make meetings, so it's good that most of it is online - often evenings
are spent reading articles or responding to comments.
