Edit > Mail & Newsgroup Account Settings
Choose the account and expand it with the arrow then click Server
Settings and untick "Leave on Server".
Not wanting to start a war or anything but the main reason I use Mozilla
is for the peace of mind over OE being a conduit for crap. Stupid man
for not setting it up properly but I can see his reasons for
recommending Mozilla...
