I've seen several of these, but they've always been either:
sponsored by one of the DB manufacturer and put out there to prove that
theirs is the best,
or:
put out there by an enthusiastic user who wants to claim that their
favourite combination of OS/DB/Scripting language is the best.
I've never seen such a comparison that I didn't think was biased and as such
unreliable. Anyway, I generally find that the DB decision is taken out of
my hands because a client's ISP will only offer one DB/platform combination!
