If the details identify an EU citizen, then in theory there are
restrictions on the data that can be sent outside of EU borders. However
the entire thing is a nightmare with EU/UK DPA legislation at times being
contradictory.
I think it depends on who has access to the data. If it's just the EU
company and employees, then I think you are ok storing/using it as per
EU/UK rules no matter where the server is physically located.
However. this may have changed since I last got involved about 18 months
back with a similar problem.
