Cheapo home office desks generally are.. I gave up in the end and spent
quite a lot of money on a really nice sturdy proper office desk.. it is
lovely though, 1600x800.

Plenty of proper office furniture sites on-line, if you want to pick up
a bargain try some of the 2nd hand office furniture dealers.
