FN-FORUM: Direct sales

Hi

I could do with some help on two specific areas regarding direct sales.

Firstly, is there any software that people use for this? I’m currently just
using a spreadsheet to track all the companies I’m targeting but things are
getting a bit messy.

Secondly, I’ve done a sample test and come to the conclusion that my best
approach is to first call a company to find out who is responsible for their
web site, and then direct my sales email to that person direct (whether I
speak to them or not at this stage isn’t really important). This is as
opposed to sending an email first (ie to [EMAIL REMOVED] and then
chasing it up with a call. It seems that normally my initial email is lost
and I end up having to send it to the correct person anyway.

Perhaps there is an on-line tutorial that can give me a run down of the
basics, as I know nothing about sales.
